Passoa

1986
BRAZIL
History

The passionfruit was first discovered in South America, during the colonisation by Spanish missionaries in the 1500s. They first noticed the amazing flowers of the fruit in the jungle. Nobody knows exactly why it became known as the passionfruit. Was it because the crown-like flower reminded people of the thorn bush of Christ’s Passion? Or perhaps it was due to its supposed qualities as an aphrodisiac?

Passoã was first launched in 1986 in the Benelux region and internationally in 1994. Today it is enjoyed all around the world. This versatile liqueur is an exotic mixer primarily designed to be enjoyed with chilled tropical fruit juices.

Production

Passoã is a passionfruit liqueur with a full-bodied sweetness that brings a twist and burst of zest to the palate. Made with real passionfruit from Brazil, Passoã is unmistakably tickled red with an intensely stimulating flavour.
